1. Introduction and Scope

This Cookie Policy explains how MOBITECH LABS S.R.L. ("CheckMobi", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar client-side storage technologies on our website at https://checkmobi.com and our cloud platform (collectively, the "Platform").

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we collect and use personal data more generally, and our Terms of Service. By using the Platform, you consent to the use of cookies and client-side storage as described in this Cookie Policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and remember information about your visit. In addition to traditional HTTP cookies, modern web applications use a range of client-side storage mechanisms. CheckMobi uses the following:

  • HTTP Cookies: small text files set by the server or client-side scripts and transmitted with every HTTP request to the server. They may be session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (retained until an expiry date or deleted manually).
  • localStorage: a browser storage area that persists data indefinitely on your device across browser sessions until explicitly deleted or the user logs out. CheckMobi uses localStorage to store authentication tokens and session identifiers.
  • sessionStorage: a browser storage area that persists data only for the duration of the current browser tab or window session. CheckMobi uses sessionStorage to store temporary UI state such as billing flow flags and cached filter parameters.
  • Web beacons / pixel tags: small transparent images embedded in pages or emails that help detect page views or email opens. Third-party analytics services we use may employ these.

For ease of reference, we use the term "cookies" in this policy to refer to all of the above technologies collectively, unless we specifically distinguish between them.

3. Types of Cookies and Storage We Use

We organise our use of cookies and client-side storage into the following categories:

CategoryTechnologiesPurposeStatus
NecessaryCheckmobiApproveCookie, Checkmobi.remember_me, CheckmobiLS.*Stores your consent choices, remembers display preferences, and supports core site behaviour such as personalised settings. Always on
AnalyticsGoogle Tag Manager and analytics tags managed through itMeasures traffic, page usage, and site performance after you opt in.Optional

Necessary cookies are set as soon as you visit the Platform and cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies are only activated after you give your consent via the cookie banner.

4. How to Manage and Control Cookies

4.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit the CheckMobi website, a cookie consent banner is displayed. This allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies (analytics and functional categories). You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer of our website. Note that strictly necessary cookies and localStorage authentication data cannot be disabled while you hold an active account, as they are required for the Platform to function.

4.2 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control HTTP cookies through their settings. You can view, delete, or block cookies by provider. Note that blocking all cookies may prevent login and Platform functionality. Browser-based controls do not directly manage localStorage or sessionStorage; these are cleared when you log out or can be removed manually via your browser's developer tools (Application > Storage).

Instructions for managing cookies in commonly used browsers:

4.3 Opt-Out of Google Analytics

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4.4 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. As there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, our Platform does not currently alter its behaviour based on DNT. We encourage you to use the controls described above to manage your preferences.

5. Cookies, localStorage, and Personal Data (GDPR)

Some of the storage mechanisms described above process personal data, including IP addresses, device identifiers, and authentication tokens. That processing is subject to our Privacy Policy and the GDPR. We rely on the following legal bases:

  • Strictly necessary (auth tokens, session data): contract performance and legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)) — no consent required;
  • Functional and preference storage: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), except where strictly necessary for a service you requested;
  • Analytics cookies: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a));
  • Consent cookie: legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — necessary to record and honour your consent decision.

You may withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time via our consent banner, browser settings, or by contacting us at support@checkmobi.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.

For information about your GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, and the right to object), please refer to Section 9 of our Privacy Policy or contact us directly.

6. International Data Transfers

Some third-party cookies (particularly Google Analytics) involve the transfer of data to servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. For further detail, please refer to Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.

7. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the storage mechanisms we use, changes in applicable law, or updates to our Platform. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when the most recent changes were made.

Where changes are material, we will provide notice via a prominent banner on our website or by email, at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
